About Us
History of Generation 2 Table Tennis Club
The club was formed in 1971 from another local team “Fareham Independants” who moved from their venue which was the TOC H club in Wallington (now demolished) to what was St Annes School in the West End of Fareham. The club was originally part of the activities of Generation 2 Youth Club which was based at the school. The original members of the club were Andy Walton, Tim Manhire and Charlie Childs within a year or so the club started to grow with its members being drawn from the members of the associated youth club. Over the years the club has entered competition teams in local leagues based in the Fareham & Gosport, Portsmouth and Southampton areas.
As the standard of the players at the club rose so teams were entered in the Souther Region club league and eventually we entered the British League as one of the founder clubs. We have entered teams in this league ever since providing a model for other clubs in Hampshire to follow.
As an Table Tennis England 4 Star “Premier Club” with ClubMark accreditation. We are a disabled friedly club and hold the “Ability Club” accreditation bestowed by our National Governing Body – Table Tennis England

Our Venue
We play our table tennis at Fareham Academy School in Fareham, we have our very own very large clubroom and sports facilities. We hold training sessions in the main sports hall, where we are able to comfortably position 16 tables, with surrounds. This is an ideal venue for training and competitions as we also have a comfortable seating and refreshment area which looks out into the sports hall. Some photos of our venue are shown below.
The Match Hall (located next to the sports hall) is where our local league matches are played on a Wednesday evening. We have installed high quality lighting which makes this gymnasium, arguably the best match-play venue in the South of England.
