The members of Generation 2 Table Tennis Club would like to welcome you to our website.

The club enters teams in local as well as national leagues. These competition teams allow our players to test their technical playing skills at an appropriate level of competition. We provide access to teams for all the playing levels and ages from beginner Juniors to adults who wish to play at high competitive level.

General practice is held on a Monday night, junior level coaching is on Friday nights, both starting 7pm. Please see posts below for announcements regarding advanced level training and school holiday sessions.

On Saturday 8th July club member Charlie Childs was made a Vice President of Table Tennis England. This award is for: Services to Coaching in Table Tennis (1976 – present) Serving as a Board Member for Table Tennis England (2008 – 11) Serving as a Board Member for British Para Table Tennis (2015 – present)

Summer League

Preston Under 13’s


Jasmine Williams was the only club member to be eligible to enter this tournament in Preston at the  impressive Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre. The tournament held over the weekend of 25th/26th June saw the best young players in the under 10-13 age bands. 2016 World Veteran Table Tennis

A small group of intrepid Generation 2 veterans have visited the sunnier climes of Alicante, purely for table tennis reasons of course! This year the city of Elche provided a fascinating, cultural backdrop to the 2016 veterans tournament. National Junior and Cadet Championships


The Table Tennis England National Junior and cadet Championships was held at Huddersfield University over the weekend of 30th April and 1st May. Only players ranked in the Top 32 of their age category were invited to compete in this tournament which made it a tough competition. Premier Team Season


Generation 2’s Southampton Premier team finished the league season in 5th place. Good season all round without inflicting any defeats on the top 2 teams. Player averages Jimmy Yeung   73.8% Letitia McMullan 59.4% Mike Rhodes  45.2% Vincent Cheung 37.5%

Portsmouth closed

U12 and U15 National Cup


Both Jonny McMullan and Jasmine Williams made the short trip to SGS Bristol to compete in what is probably the most difficult tournament of the year for those age bands. Each event is an all play all format over 2 days.Jonny started Saturday morning as 6th seed out of 10, his first day saw him beat 2 players seeded above him so a great start.
