Preston Under 13’s

Jasmine Williams was the only club member to be eligible to enter this tournament in Preston at the  impressive Sir Tom Finney Sports Centre.
The tournament held over the weekend of 25th/26th June saw the best young players in the under 10-13 age bands.
Jasmine started her competition in the U13’s group on Saturday coming runner-up in her group to the No5 seed combination bat player Scarlett o’Neill.
A quarter final place against No2 seed Gemma Kerr from Devon saw a great battle with Jasmine losing in the fourth.
She teamed up with Alana Mansfield in the U13 Doubles saw them only lose to the No2 seeds in the  semi-finals – another good performance.
Sunday saw the U12 groups which again saw her come runner-up to the No1 seed Ruby Chan.
1st and 2nd round opponents, Holly Smithson and Alana Mansfield, were both higher ranked. Jasmine’s consistency saw her progress to the semi-final.
The  semi-final was a tense affair against old rival Scarlett O’Neil saw Jasmine trail 2-0 when a timely time out managed to turn the tide and set up for a 5th set which Jasmine lost 11-8.
A great weekend for jasmine – 1 quarter final and 2 semi-finals – wicked!!!!!!
